Accessibility and Availability

Neighborhood

Cottage Hill Historic District is Montgomery's oldest neighborhood. Development began in the 1830's and the historic architecture, old growth trees and sense of times past are felt throughout the area. Cottage Hill was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1975. This neighborhood is full of friendly locals all with a great story to tell! Walkable to downtown, a short walk to the National Memorial for Peace and Justice, and walkable to The Hilltop Public House - a local favorite coffee shop / bar / live music where you'll run into a mix of local artists, politicians, lawyers, service members and more!

The neighborhood is very walkable and National Memorial for Peace and Justice is a few blocks away. Downtown is walkable as well but there are some hills which might be strenuous for unseasoned walkers. 24/7 street parking ok. There is a driveway which can accommodate up to two vehicles depending on their size. The house is located right off I-65 and I-85.

We enjoyed our stay and Christina and Barry's place. The historic neighborhood was enjoyable to walk and very quite. Also convenient to all the various civil rights sites and museums and the free shuttle. The house is lovely and updated with everything you need to make a meal, beds were comfortable and plenty of space for 4 adults. Each night we walked to the Hilltop Public House for a night cap and to play scrabble.

They are Superhosts for a good reason—everything was GREAT!! The house was very comfortable, extremely clean, and had everything we needed. Christina checked in periodically to see if I needed anything, but the communication and signage around the house were so clear that we never had any questions. A few thoughtful touches made the stay even easier: all the light switches were labeled, and we had the option of using a key for the back door or a code for the front door. I usually parked in the back and closed the gate, which made loading/unloading the car very easy. If I return to Montgomery, this is the only place I want to stay! The layout offers privacy for both bedrooms, the two sitting rooms are very comfortable, and the kitchen table easily seats six and could comfortably seat eight. Everything was spotlessly clean. It was very apparent why this house is so highly rated. If you’re visiting Montgomery, stay here. Book it before it’s gone!

As many other guests have noted, Christina and Barry's home is simply beyond category. It's a beautifully restored and updated, spotless, comfortable, and impeccably maintained. Every detail is on target, everything works (super-fast wifi, unobtrusive but great TVs in every room), and instructions for the household infrastructure are clear and comprehensive. The neighborhood is quiet and welcoming, and close to museums, restaurants, downtown, and all of the other legacy sites in Montgomery. And as hosts, it's hard to imagine more hospitable, responsive, and knowledgeable hosts than Christina and Barry. We'll be back!

Absolutely loved our stay at Christina & Barry’s home! The home is stunning and matched the photos/description perfectly - 12ft ceilings, so much character, and a historic neighborhood! You can tell they’ve thought of everything - extra chargers, kitchen supplies, a sound machine - pretty much anything we could think of needing they had stocked. Super easy to communicate with and very quick responses. We truly fell in love with this home and really loved our stay!
